In
CATAN (formerly The Settlers of Catan), players try to be the dominant force on the island of Catan by building settlements, cities, and roads. On each turn dice are rolled to determine what resources the island produces. Players collect these resources (cards)—wood, grain, brick, sheep, or stone—to build up their civilizations to get to 10 victory points and win the game.
Official Catan Tournament rules will be used. Players will play three games at Breakout and depending on the number of participants the top winners will compete in a semi-final and the a final round to be the overall winner. Every year players from around the country compete in local qualifying tournaments. The winners of each of the tournaments are sent to the Catan Canadian Championship (CCC). The winner at Breakout can look forward to a seat at the next Catan Canadian Championship (CCC) in 2024.
All participants must be Canadian Citizens/Permanent Residents and be 18+ years of age by March 18, 2023. Please contact Catan Studio at

IMPORTANT: You
must have a valid Breakout 2023 pass in order to participate in the Catan tournament. Signing up here alone is not sufficient. Failure to purchase a Breakout pass could result in your removal from the sign up at the discretion of the tournament organizer.
